Just once per election...it was enough each time. How many times did you get to vote "Romney" in your state last election?

Used to vote "Republican" for 20+ yrs other than voting 2X for Ross Peroe. The GOP is no longer "for" the working classes, minorities, or the poor. Do not get me wrong; they DO want their VOTES, but the GOP as a rule are NOT in any "meaningful" way concerned with the ACTUAL BETTERMENT of those same "classes" of voters any more than "lip service". Eisenhower? YES. Reagan? YES. Romney? LOOK AT HIS RECORD...find a GOP candidate who HELPS those SAME classes of voters and who will CARE about THEM. OH! WAIT! IF you DO that, you`ll VERY LIKELY "WIN" the next election! Just FORGET I said that, OK? Back to the "hard line" "good ole boy" "old money" "vested interests" "trickle down the pant`s leg `economics`", have the taxpayers foot the bill to send jobs to China" policies, ect...repeat after me: "Almost ALL for "us"; little to NOTHING for "you"...very attractive and "catchy' isn`t it?

You're speaking in generalities, and it's just not true. Look at education, for example. The Reps want parents to have choice so they can decide where their kids go to school. The Dems are beholden to the teachers unions and want your kids stuck in public schools learning self-esteem and condom usage.

In health care, the Reps are for free market solutions while the Dems give us the coming train wreck known as Obamacare which:

    a) won't reduce costs and

    b) won't insure everybody.

If you don't like those examples, pick your own and tell me how the Dems are better.

At least from the "option" of "Gosh, Mom and Dad, I can`t afford college right after high school, can you help?" As various persons "suggested" unfortunately for the majority in the recent times that answer would have to be "Gosh, kid, no we can`t ! Get a Pell Grant, go to school for 1 yr and then go get a job and FORGET about college..." As far as Obama Care, will willingly "parrot' what more than 1 person said: "IF you CAN NOT pay "out of pocket" then you do NOT "need" health coverage" ie, if you get hurt, sick, ect, please quietly go somewhere else out of sight and just die, OK? BTW, just to throw a wrench into the Republican "logic" the SAME EXACT thing was said about Social Security...OMG ! THIS will BANKRUPT the country! It CANNOT 'work !" FDR is delivering us to the Nazis (or Communists, anarchists, Socialists, ect take your pick) !!!" They were "right" correct? "Can`t" POSSIBLY "work". Remember, the `economic "giants"` of the time (who by the way ALSO kept predicting "our economy would very rapidly `fix` ITSELF" from early 1930 onwards) SOLOMNLY predicted the complete and TOTAL collapse of the United States economy upon passage of the "New Deal"...and they were RIGHT, correct? We DID completely collapse, didn`t we?

SS and Medicare had bipartisan support (unlike Obamacare.) SS has worked well because we've had 30 workers supporting every retiree. Now that the baby boomers are retiring, it's long-term viability is threatened.

Ok, so "what' exactly WAS the "Republican plan" during the start of the brief "market readjustment" that became known to everyone else as the Great Depression? "Uh, uh, (ALL together now!)...the market will "fix" itself...Government `intervention will ONLY induce public "panic". So "let it RIDE!" And the `very brief financial "hick up"` that later became known as the Great Depression to the rest of the world was left to "fix" itself and grew and grew. I have to wonder if Herbert Hoover ever regretted the "sound" advice of his Wall Street `experts` ? Know the VAST majority of the US did...Fast forward to the 2008 Wall Street meltdown...again, the Republican "plan"? It`s a "minor' financial market `readjustment`...Gov`t intervention will only create public "panic"...Let her "ride !" The 2012 Republican "plan"? HUGE GYNORMOUS tax breaks for the richest 2% AND companies already paying less tax than they did in 1950..."let her ride"...do ANY of those "sound familiar" ?
