    Default Global Cooling

This weather kinda reminds me of the 1970's when the "Earth Nuts" were declaring a coming Ice Age.

Yep, if global warming no longer fits, just change the name to climate change. That way you can cry wolf no matter what's happening with the weather.

    IMHO ...
Actually, the Earth is warming ... on average. That doesn't mean it's instantly going to be 98deg every day, everywhere. Currently it is just manifesting itself in the weather getting "frisky". And it's not going to be a straight 45deg incline on the World's annual temp charts .... they're going to look a lot like the stock market chart, zigzagging up and down, but "trending" upwards over time.

Are humans at fault .... probably not "totally" but, I'm sure we're part of the problem. And no ... I don't subscribe to the Al Gore theory. And I don't think having everybody on Earth driving an electric vehicle will make the trend reverse, or even stabilize. All they do is transfer the pollution from burning fossil fuel (gas) in the vehicle ... to the pollution from the power plants that supply the electricity to charge the batteries used in the elec vehicles. And the batteries are currently too inefficient to be useful on a worldwide scale.

I'm no expert on this subject, so I reserve the right to be wrong, or mistaken.

    ... cp

Yes, the Earth is warming...on average, and "trending" upward for for this very short time - may it be a hundred years, a thousand years, ten thousand years, etc. Then it cycles once again. That's the way it is. Us humans are proud of ourselves for existing, what, 5,000 years or so? That's nothing. The human race will be the shortest living species on earth.

There continues to be too many folks thinking that even if human activity actually causes global warming or climate change that the government with all their wizards of smart could ever be able to remotely affect climate change for the good sure shows how good our public edu-indoctrination system really is. The wizards of smart have such a proven reputation going for demonstrating their abilities.

    Night Watchman.....

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.

Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So they created a "Night Watchman" position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress asked, "How can the watchman do his job without instruction?"

So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress asked, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly ?"

So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports.

Then Congress wondered, "How are these people going to get paid ?"

So they created two positions - a time keeper and a payroll officer - then hired people to fill them.

Then Congress asked, "Who will be accountable for all of these people ?"

So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $ 918,000 over budget, we must cut back."

So they laid-off the night watchman.

NOW slowly, let it sink in.

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration ?

    Anybody ?

    Anything ?

    No ?

    Didn't think so !

Bottom line is, we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember !

    Ready ??

It was very simple... and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL !

    Hey, pretty efficient, huh ?

AND NOW IT'S 2013 -- 36 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE !

(THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND ASK, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING ?")

36 years ago, 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 60% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.

Ah, yes -- good old Federal bureaucracy.

NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?

    Hello ! Anybody Home ?

That is coming to a end, real soon. I know.

My thought on " the warming" is simple. Greenland!!!! At one time it was green. When the Minnesota Vikings settled there, it was during the mini Ice Age, so it musta been white then. Maybe the Minnesota Vikings need to go back to Greenland and homestead again. Make Gore the team captain.

Ain't nobody ever lived long enough to know for certain what's really happening. The "Gore Groopies" need to pull that global thermometer from their rectums...

I saw Melanie Phillips on C-SPAN2 today. (Yes, I watch C-SPAN2. On weekends, it's nothing but non-fiction books -- often very interesting stuff.)

Anyway, Phillips said that if she had read nothing but what the MSM spits out on global warming, she'd believe it, too. She has studied the science, though, and thinks it's all a bunch of baloney.

I am of the opinion that no one knows a thing about it. I see 50% of the experts telling us it's cooling, and 50% telling us it's warming. Thus, we have no problem. However, IF coconut palms start growing on the White House lawn I'll revisit the matter.
