Back in 1978/79 there was talk of building 7 synthetic fuel plants in the Henderson, KY to Owensboro, KY area. These big plants were copies of what South Africa was doing. They converted coal into Oil and Gas. The German's perfected this technology during WWII as they lost their Oil Fields in the Balkans and Middle East after Rommel was pushed out of North Africa by the Allies. This all happened because the Organization for Exporting Countries (OPEC) were threatening to cut off oil supplies to the USA once Again. They did this in 1972/73 also and there were long gas lines both time in parts of the nation.

Ronald Regan was elected in 1980 and immediately stopped the potential funding to build these synthetic fuel plants. I was in favor for it at that time due to the fact that they were not going to put any air pollution controls on those big plants and it would have really made the air foul in the Ohio River Valley. Now if the build these plants using the LOWEST ACHIEVABLE EMISSION RATES or LARS technology and spread them thoughout the country I would be in favor of building them. That would help supply this country with relatively cheaper oil and gas. (Relative to if the price of foreign oil is above $75 a barrel for oil). As OPEC raises it's price of oil by restricting their output and thus artificially restricting the supplies the demand keeps increasing due to world's overpopulation and the need for more people to have cars and use gasoline the prices are skyrocketing upwards. We have to develop alternative to buying foreign oil. And we have found out that invading an oil producing country with only 100,000 troops is not going to get that Iraqi Oil to the USA and bring the price of oil down. We can't secure that Iraqi Oil now. The Iraqi's are fighting the US Troops and there are millions of them to try to control. We don't know which ones are on our side and which ones are fighting us. We can't win that war the way we are fighting it right now. We need to INCREASE the number of troops we put over there to actually control the oil and protect the transportation infrastructure and the processing of the oil and gas found in Iraq. Remember that Iraq has 25% of the Worlds KNOWN (pr oven by drilling) oil reserves. That's oil found in the ground. That's 1/4 of the Entire World's OIL. Other countries with lots of oil are Saudi Arabia, Niger, and Venezuela. Note that Niger is war torn, Venezuela while closer to the USA has a new leader that is anti USA and very vocal about it. The newest US Navy Virginia Class Submarine when into the waters off the coast of Venezuela on it's very first shakedown cruise. After it returned to the states it will undergo another year's of work in the ship yard. So you might say that they took this brand new boat and it's new technology off the coast of Venezuela for a reason. This boat is very stealthy and is very capable of picking up enemy radio and radar transmissions to analyze them for future combat operations. Folks the USA sent the USS Virginia into the Waters off the coast of South American for a good Reason. We could have sent that sub off the Taiwan Coast just as well as that is another spot in the world that has a potential for WWIII to break out. China has threaten to invade Taiwan if they try to declare their independence for main land china. Main land China is communist while The Nationalist of China fled out to sea and to Taiwan at the end of WWII when the communist took over China. China is building up it's armed forces faster than ever and most of that money is being spent on building up the Chinese Navy including new generation very quiet submarines that can threaten US Naval Air Craft Carries and their task force which patrol the South Pacific with ease these days. That may soon change if we don't' counter the Chinese Naval Buildup. While China and other countries are building up their naval forces we are cutting ours. Everyone is building more submarines as they are very effective weapons of war and harder to find these days with the new fuel cell and other propulsion systems. They are as quiet as the WWII German, us and Japanese electric subs but can stay underwater for weeks vs hours. That makes them a big danger to the oil supply transports. That give the future oil buyers the creeps and forces the price of Oil up even more. Then you have Iran threatening to build the A bomb and having medium range missile that can reach Israel. To get the oil out of Iraq to the USA we have to ship it by super tanker. A single small boat with several pirates (terrorists or Iranian revolutionary Guards) aboard and a missile system or even a rocket propelled grenade launcher can attack one of the big slow moving supertankers filled with oil and set it on fire. Just the threat of this happening causes the shipping insurance rates to skyrocket. Lloyd's of London will charge more to insure the ships and their precious oil cargo. Or they will refuse to insure them in a potential WAR ZONE. The straight between Oman and Iran are very narrow. Only about 55 miles across at the narrowest point. All the Oil from Iraq and Kuwait has to pass though this choke point and is very vulnerable to attack. Millions of barrels of oil a day could be cut off from the USA.

You have not seen long gas lines yet. But you will see gas prices reaching $4.00 a gallon this summer.

But fear not the republican in congress are up for re-election this coming November and they know that they have until Sept to get the oil prices back down. They know and are counting on the fact that the public has a short term memory and by the time the elections roll around they will have brought the prices of gas down just in time for the November election. People will soon forget the high prices from this coming summer by November and will again vote the same people back into office. Then you get two more years of inflated oil and gasoline prices until the next election cycle. I hope you remember this when you go to the poles this coming November

Hey I remember the boycott and talks of rationing, odd-day/even day fill-ups, and all that. Everything that was put in place to reduce dependence on foreign oil was gutted by Reagan and his minions.
The bureaucrats have refused to make the truck manufacturers improve fuel economy, they gutted all the conservation tax programs aimed at the consumer and they raised speed limits. Now we're being held hostage by a bunch of Middle East countries that would like to see us destroyed. Well, duh.

I have to say, though, I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people who fly by me at 70 mph in their Yukon's and Hummers, or leave their vehicles idling while they go into the bank or post office. The Price of Gas needs to come down. No doubt about that. However regardless of the price of gas we should conserve anyway. I just wish there was better technology available to help us out with that. Here is an example: My wife drives a Prius. Aside from the electric motor part there is a chip or something in the computer that actucally shuts the engine down whenever the car is at an ideling state (stop signs, redlights, or just coasting down the highway) I have to wonder how much gas could be saved if we could install a chip in the "regular" cars computer so it would do the same thing? Might be a small amount individualy but maybe more substantial when the "big picture" is looked at?

You can turn the vehicle off at any stop light or any time you are sitting still waiting for traffic to move such as when your car is in line at the drive through bank, McDonald's or the ATM.
I have heard people say that it takes more fuel to restart the car than it does to sit there idling but I don't believe that. You may use a little bit more fuel to start a cold engine but a hot engine will turn over quickly as the hot motor vaporized the gasoline in the combustion chamber and the fuel ignites quickly. Running the car at 1000 rpm for 60 seconds or longer must burn up more fuel than a 3 second start up when the motor is warm

Our local Air Pollution Control Agency and many other air pollution control agencies across the USA have problems controlling OZONE Pollution. Ozone is a highly volatile and unstable molecule. It's a gas and is formed when Oxygen O2 is combined with another O to form O3 molecules. It take a lot of energy to break apart an O2 molecule into two O's. The presence of bright sunlight and UV light of a certain wavelength (Lots of kinetic energy) will break O2 molecule apart in the Presence of NOX gases. NO and NO2 are highly relative also and they are present in the ambient air year round but get concentrated closer to ground level during the hot summer months. You know those days in late July in the Midwest when the air is still and the flags are standing completely still. Smoke from the smoke stacks just does not go up out of the stacks and just about falls out of the stack like water coming out of a standing pipe. We know that Hot air rises over cold air. Well in the hot summer months the air at the ground cools down faster than the air aloft. This means that in the morning and all night long we have cooler air on the ground and relatively warmer air above the ground. This prevents the warm smoke that exits the smoke stack from rising up as it normally would. This is called a air temperature inversion. This is the INVERSE or OPPOSITE of what normally occurs. Normally when you go up in altitude the air is gets cooler. If not for this fact all the hot exhaust gases would stay near ground level where we all live and breath. We are lucky that this INVERSION phenomena only occurs in the hot summer months on a few days. But once in Donora PA this occurred and it lasted for days and killed a lot of people. Here where I live we get these temperature inversion every year practically. We have been lucky the last two summers as they have been cooler than normal in July and August. But our winters have been much warmer. So the average temps of the earth are still getting warmer. Witness the melting of the glaciers at the North and South Pole. But I digress. Back to Ozone. Ozone is just what we call an INDICATOR pollutant. When you find Ozone in the air there are also many other bad air pollutant in the air PAN's for example. And Ozone is not formed in a smoke stack and emitted directly into the air. Precursor chemicals are first produced by factories and vehicles exhaust gases. These primary pollutants are as follows: NOX and the various Organic Hydrocarbons. You know the paint thinners and the solvents we all use every day. There are more hydrocarbons that Quaker has oats. So they are very expensive to monitor in the air. EPA does have monitors that can measure the amount of NOX in the air. And there are some monitors that can measure methane in the air and use that chemical as another indicator of the amount of hydrocarbons (TOTAL) in the air. There are monitors than can measure the amount of Total Carbon in Water and in air. These are called TOC monitors which stand for Total Organic Carbon.

When you get a lot of these various (thousands of types of chemicals) mixed in the hot summer stagnant air you get this mixing with sunlight and the NO and NO2 gases and you get OZONE Produced. Only when the sun is shinning brightly will this reaction occur. Only when you have the precursor chemicals in the air will this happen. Take away the NOX chemical in the ambient air and the Ozone won't form as readily. Take away the various hydrocarbons from the air and you won't get as much Ozone formed. But remember that by reducing OZONE you're reducing the many hydrocarbons which many are cancer causing. You are also reducing NOX which forms Nitric Acid. You really don't wish to breath Nitric acid fumes into your lungs. It's a very strong mineral acid that can do a lot of damage to your skin, eyes and mucus membranes as well and damage the lung tissues. So by reducing the amount of gas burned by vehicles you are reducing the amount of NOX produced into the ambient air. BTW Ambient air is what we call the outside air that we all breath. As compared to the indoor air. OSHA controls the indoor work environment so that employees are not exposed to excessive pollution inside the factories. USEPA by an act of congress is charged with controlling the pollutants in the Ambient Air we all have to breath.

One good thing that's coming from the increase in oil prices is that people may just start driving more fuel efficient cars or driving less miles. This will reduce a lot of air pollution. Almost 50% of the air pollution comes from Vehicles while the other 45 % comes from factory smoke stacks. Mostly fossil fuel burning power plants that emit millions of tons of various pollutants into the air 24/7.

So buy buying a more economical car you can help control not only our dependence on foreign oil but you can help reduce air pollution.

Did you k now that lung cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Even if you don't smoke cigarettes you are exposed to all kinds of toxic air pollutants every day. You breath in about 2 liters of air with every breath (adult) you have to breath 16 times per min. There are 60 min per hour and 24 hour per day. How many liters of air did your breath into your lungs just yesterday? And if you want a quick buzz or want to get a chemical into your body there is no faster way to introduce it into your body than to inhale it into your lungs. If you took the lung tissue's surface area and spread it out it would cover a basketball floor. It's that large. You lungs take in and absorb gases directly into the blood stream. If you are a smoker you probably remember vividly when you took the first puff of a cigarette or cigar. Do you remember just how fast you got sick and light headed from that first puff? That's how fast the lungs took in the nicotine in that smoke, dissolved the nicotine into your blood stream and pushed that blood to your brain. It happens in a matter of seconds. This is what happens to your body every day you breath in toxic fumes or gases. The concentration of the nicotine was very high as it's concentrated in the hot smoke. But you can get the same dose over longer time even with low concentrations of gases. You body may not sense that its being polluted but over time it does have an impact on your body. It's the terrorists secrete weapon. It's one way to get rid of the poor without them knowing what is happening. The rich can afford to live UPWIND of the power plants. The poor don't know any better and are drawn to living downwind because those area are less expensive to buy that land. Housing next to a dirty city lead foundry in the past were much lower in cost than the land out in the pure air country side next to the country club. Just like if you live next to the airport and have to suffer the jet fume and jet engine noises as the planes come and go at all hours of the day.

Why not try to prevent cancer from happening in the first place. You can do a lot better than giving a donation to St Jude's which tries to treat cancers AFTER they have occurred. Gov't Gas Taxes Exceed Oil Company Profits

While the media continues to blame the big oil companies for gouging U.S. motorists as they collect record breaking profits, the windfall profits raked in by the government in the form of energy tax revenue actually dwarf the oil companies' jackpot.
The press sounded the alarm last year when the largest U.S. oil company, ExxonMobil Corp, announced profits of $36 billion. But according to the Tax Foundation, the biggest price gouging profiteer was the U.S. government, cashing in to the tune of $54 billion in oil and gas taxes.
"Tax collections on the production and import of gasoline by state and federal governments are already near historic highs," the think tank says. "In fact, in recent decades governments have collected far more revenue from gasoline taxes than the largest U.S. oil companies have collectively earned in domestic profits."
Since 1977, federal and state governments have collected more than $1.34 trillion in gasoline tax revenues in inflation adjusted dollars. That's "more than twice the amount of domestic profits earned by major U.S. oil companies during the same period," the Tax Foundation says.
Still, despite government tax gouging on oil industry revenue, Democrats like Sen. Charles Schumer want to raise energy taxes even more - complaining that oil company profiteering is simply just unconscionable. After learning about the Luciferian society, the Illuminatti, and the Skull and Bones boys and all those connected with the above forementioned, I know it is very stupid to ask Bush or anyone who follows him as president to truly take care of us true Americans.

Asking Bush, Cheney and the boys in the back room who run things to lower gas prices is like asking the fox to build a better fence around the hen house. Sure, he'll work on it, but the chickens are lead to same end just down a different path. How will you know? Watch the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the total disappearance of the middle-class income workers.

I believe deeply to the very boundaries of my heart and mind that in my life time (in mid-forties now) I will die in my old age while this country is gripped with a severe unrecoverable economic depression that will make what happened back in 1929 look pleasant.

I suggest learning hunting and surviving skills. Tons of books out there on the web will give you a general knowledge. Basic martial arts for the young boys, girls, and women, and how to find water in the most dire of circumstances should now be taught to this generation rising.

What we see in nations like Somalia and Sumatra where horrible explicit crimes on children is common, slavery exists openly, and other forms of human degredation will come to our shores without much resistance in my lifetime. It is like this nation is falling faster all the time into degradation of the soul.

What is truly American (a Christian nation) will diminish into Eastern religions, secularism, and denying or diluting the Word. The "feel good" Christian faithmongers will flourish. Just watch. It will be about the show of faith, but denying the power.

I live in Jackson, MS. Every night I hear the gang bangers battle for the right to sell whatever is popular for lost souls. I can tell when the new drug shipments come in by the long volley of gun blasts on a hill near my home. I call my side of Jackson "Murderville" because of the body dumpings and human skeletal remains found in the woods and abandoned lots around here. It took Hurricane Katrina to quieten the gun blasts, but that only lasted a couple of nights. Once the lights came back on, it was business back as usual for the gang bangers.

Were it not for my elderly mom, I would pack up and leave this awful town today where criminals have invaded the very court system to get lighter sentences or have complete criminal records disappear. Mom won't move (lived here since the early 1940s) and I can't leave her alone up here. But when she passes on, I'm taking two weeks off and moving away from here. God willing.

One of the things that rising gas prices does is herd people into town living. You can control people easier if they are totally dependent on Government for water, sewer, fuel, and other necessities. Maybe it's because I am a direct decendent of Daniel Boone, but I don't think it's healthy for large groups of folks to live too closely together. I heard that when great great great great great Grandpa Boone had a town's worth of folk move within eighty miles of his home, he moved further into the wilderness.

These things affecting us today don't just happen. It's been planned for decades, if not centuries. Those who have read their Holy Bible know that the European Union will become the next world super power. That means the USA has to be taken out. Probably nuclear. Probably economic destruction. Something has to happen to us in America for this to happen. It will be planned, it will be caused to happen, and it will happen when it is suppose to happen. It will look like it just happened on its own, but it hasn't happened that way at all.

It's just like deer hunting, if you know what to look for, i.e., the signs (scrapes, droppings, and trails), then you will know how to prepare. Unfortunately, most folks won't know how to do this and will fall. As for me, I watch not only the censored news on CNN, Foxnews, and the like but what is going on behind the scenes as well with the economy, general health of the society, and food and water sources.

Yeah, there are conspiracy nuts who want to sell MREs and the like, but you have to learn to spot the fake scrapes from the real scrapes and that takes time and effort. One of the things I watch for is the rise of a world religion that combines all faiths into one lump faith under one world faith leader who claims that the followers of Buddah, Allah, and Jesus Christ are basically following the same path to one enlightened end. It is just not so.

It cost me $37 today to fill a half-empty tank for a Ford F-150 and I'm not happy at all. I sat in the truck and grimaced like someone was spraying salty lemon juice into a fresh wound cut deep and wide in my billfold. I cast quick glances at the pump as the dollar amount increased incredibly fast for only twelve gallons of gasoline (regular unleaded). That basically means it now costs nearly 80 bucks to fill my gas tank. (growls like an old she-bear with sore claws)

You see, I hunt and fish not only for sport, but to keep improving my survival skills when the worst of times come. I thank God that I am a natural born hunter. Gutting and skinning a buck comes natural to me. Fishing all night for channel cats is so much fun. Better than icecream. Mom says I have a lot of Grandpa Boone ways and that I have always been "different". I hope she meant that as a compliment. :D

I now take half of what I earn and put it into savings. I don't know where this country is going anymore, but I want a big ole chunk of cash stashed away when it happens. Yep. Watching for bank closings, too. The first thing to go when Katrina hit was the Visa credit card. Bank cancelled it without no warning. ATM card was useless during the power outage that followed Katrina, too. If you get a warning of a natural disaster like Katrina coming, get atleast $500 in your pocket or hidden somewhere safe. If I lived out west where the Yellowstone caldera is forming under the park, I would have atleast a couple of thousand dollars hidden so I could get away from it as best I could when it blows. I hear thousands of people will die when the Yellowstone Park caldera blows and the rising dust cloud will actually cool the whole planet for a year or two.

Okay. I'll shut up now. Sometimes it is hard to be cool when you see the greatest nation on the planet slowly fall and her people used up till they die and their remains used as food.
