A favorite quick and easy meal for me is to grill asparagus, venison back strap and sometimes a thick slice of onion over charcoal. Usually put a coating of olive oil on them.
Might have to try sac-a-lait's recipe though.

wrap a bunch (4-5) with a piece of bacon and cook on the grill (I like to pre-cook the bacon a little first).........but they are good any way you fix them as long as you dont over cook...........we like to make a dipping sauce with mayo and soy sauce....excellent

Take as many asp that will fit on it in a single layer and of course break each one at the end to find the tender point in the stalk. Place them on the sheet in single layer. Drizzle with olive oil and kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper. Pull the sheet back and forth slowly and the asp will turn over themselves letting the OO and S&P get all over all sides. Place them in the preheated over. In about 4 mins they will be bright green. In about 7 mins they will start to carmalize as the natural sugars are drawn out and cooked. Pull the pan back and forth to cook evenly and leave in oven about another 3-5 mins until all are DARK GOLDEN BROWN on all sides. Then get you some of that and report back what you think. Make sure the sheet is on the second lowest rack location in the oven, not the lowest but the second lowest.

Also, make a bunch this way and take the lefgtovers and cut up. Add to pasta, as a pizza topping, in a sandwich instead of lettuce, etc, or they are good cold too. Like lays tater chips can't eat just one. It's really good as a filling to my stuffed bread in the COOKING section.

oK, your all close but no cigar. Take a bunch of asparagus, put it on a cookie sheet, wet good and rub them with olive oil, dust with fresh ground pepper, garlic salt and some crushed red pepper. Easy on the red pepper!! Throw them on a cool to medium grill and roll them around for about 6 to 8 minutes. Not to long, they stay crunchy but are done and DELICIOUS!! Never have cooked enough, at least that's what everyone tells me, = no leftovers!!!!

take the roasted asp as the come out of the oven and sprinkle some parm cheese or your fav cheese over the STEMS not the tips as the tips are so good alone no need to mess them up. You can also drizzle a little fresh lemon juice over them. Try different cook times and get it like you want it. This is one that will impress people as they seriously addictive. The are even better cold the next day. Roast a batch of asp and have some baked fish with the greek season crappieman101 mentioned above and for some reason, since it is all so wholesome you will sleep better that night AND wake up feeling 10 years younger...BRAIN FOOD. When in doubt ROAST it!!!

Make a cream sauce and add a couple of cups of chopped up roasted asp that were leftover (if u r lucky), add some ham or shrimp, chicken anything you want and some angel hair pasta and toss around and MAN you got a dish that will make them lick the plates clean.

fishinrod, I make sure I get the tips covered good in oil so they come out super crispy...I wish I had more asp i would eat these everynight this way if I could. You can literally just eat one bunch for dinner and be stuffed and get up the next day ready to run a marathon. Don't know what it is. I have to buy them in the grocery store here at usually $5 a pound but now they are in seaon so they have them on sale for $3 a pound FOR NOW...

Roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper gets my vote. Simple and great tasting.
I also like to saute then cut to 1 inch piece and throw it in with pasta in an alfredo sauce (make from scratch - butter, flour, milk/cream, parmesan, romano...). For those carnivores out there, add sauted or grill chicken. Maybe some crisp bacon. Hmmm. Sliced and sauted pepper (yellow/orange) add nice flavor and color as well.
