Default you may want to do some reading yourself

Given that his conquests yielded the largest empire in population and land mass and was done with the fewest men. His brilliance was never really noted as the Mongols did not have a written language at the time. All his military exploits were written by his ENEMIES. He never fought defensively by choice. His light calvary was designed for only offense.

On a personal note while in Vietnam I noticed our side giving all the iniative to the other side as far as offense. That one did not work out very well for us.

Robert E. Lee confederate commander reigned supreme in the eastern theater of our Civil War. Even though he was heavily outnumbered and was seriously under supplied. His blunders at Gettysburg convinced him to only fight a defensive struggle after that battle. Although he commanded brilliantly on the defensive side he ultimately lost.

Many battles have been won on the defensive side. But never an entire war.
Hitler won many wars because he had a strong offense, but ultimately lost because of spreading himself too thin and weakening his defense. Russia on the other hand wasn't conquered by Germany because they pulled back eveything and mouted a strong defense that Hitler couldn't defeat!

I'm thinking that just telling the world you have a weapon like the Stealth is a defensive tactic, and I guess that's why the U.S. announced we had it.

If you don't tell the world you have a great weapon... you could end up like this!

Russia will never dis-arm below any of the G-8 powers, this just plays into the hands of the war profiteers who cant sell their goods if no wars exsist. What we should be worried about is Russia's directional drilling under the arctic and backdooring the huge reserves out from under us. But then again that plays into the oil excecs false shortages / price inflated policies. Their is no oil shortage, huge new fields have been discovered years ago off Floridas coast and a gigantic field off New Englands coast as well....they wont let it be drilled to keep the shortage myths alive. I keep forgetting the Iraqis are gonna turn on the big spicket and let all that oil flow!

We have the worlds largest oil supply off shore. Drill baby drill. The world knows this and they will help themselves if we don't.

I believe Putin pushed the reset button. Back to communism. He embraces Stalinism.

Protesters in Russia on the news being locked up for protesting I guess?
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
