Al and Tn are stupid with these laws. They need to work together. But will not. They tried to tell our Daughter that she could not move from Al back to Tn when she got her Divorce with a 6 month old Child. But after she got her Shark in Tn. He showed them they were wrong. I bet if you can find the right person in Tn. You may well find out how to get your deal worked out.
Good luck, Believe in God Trust in him.

Obviously there are greater issues here, however you mentioned that you are going to college.. you should check and see if the school offers low cost insurance for you and your daughter while you are in school...

Shiloh, Tennessee's system is much better than Alabama's, however now we both live in Alabama. The only bad thing is, lawyers charge so much and when you are unemployed, its hard to hire one. Another thing about that, any time I have ever had to deal with a woman in court, it did not matter that I had a lawyer, the system gave in to her and ruined me.

One exception, you need a woman lawyer...We have a niece that is a lawyer & 75% of her clients are male..Have you ever seen a female lawyer attack a woman in court.? Not a pretty sight..

Check and see if there is a Legal Aid Society or something similar in your area. They are attorneys who handle civil cases (which yours would be) for indigent people. I don't know what their criteria are, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. BTW, if you're sitting on a "nest egg" from the buyout, a judge won't be very sympathetic if you're behind on child support....

BigSandy, the problem with the buyout thing is this. When she filed bankruptcy, all the creditors came after me because they would not remove my name from the loans even though she was ordered to pay them in court. She filed bankruptcy on the loans and on the 3,000 she was ordered to pay me as well. She caused me to lose my vehicle which they pretty much gave away at auction and are suing me for almost 15,000 that i will have to settle. Then the home equity loan that she filed on was 18,000 and another loan for about 7,000. My name was on them all. I had to pay the bank 12,500 to settle those. Plus I had to pay my car off. So with her costing me all that money and me trying to live, there aint much left. She was ordered to pay those debts but did not. By me having to pay them has made it hard to keep up my support and stuff. I realize the importance of paying, but it should also be important for me to have the opportunity to pay and she took that away by filing bankruptcy.

DonG, I have heard about the women, some people here say they do good and some say they have done nothing for them. Some told me they have to do things the way the system is set up, and that is to help and defend minorities, and yes women are minorities. I once had a lawyer one time that said he wont even represent a man in court because the chances of him winning were almost zero. He said a man has 3 strikes before he ever goes before a judge. He said he would not take a case that he did not think he had a chance to win. He said the rest of the lawyers would just take my money, and he was right. It is hard to believe there was an honest attorney out there lol

Great case of "I'm from the goverment, I'm here to help".

I hate you lost your job, I hate that you're struggling to find a new one.

You can blame our government for the rest.
    1. Government programs are run by people who don't know the community, dont' know the people, and really don't care. They just follow their procedures and have you fill out the forms.
    2. our Government isn't trying to create an environment that will stimulate job growth. If they were we would see immediate results. We live and depend upon a capitalist form of economy. It's very simple and easy to fix. Unfortunately capitalism and socialism are counter forces and cancel each other out.

I give you kudos for going back to school and wish you well. You might consider moving to areas where jobs are more available. That will help your odds of employment dramatically.
"Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits." - Thomas Jefferson
