I agree with you DRPEPPER, but considering if my teach was one of those people, I would not want to offend her for my grades sake. I need that A. Deathb4disco, we have 3 to 5 minutes, but I can make it work, atleast to get my point across.

She probably did not want you to do a paper on unions since she is most likely a member of SEIU.

I have thought of two other points, tell me if you think they are good. Number 2. (Suppression-The Value of equal rights, opportunities, and participation.) This is due to how they view women-Afghan women and girls need freedom and equality.
The lack of health care and education makes Afghanistan one of the most dangerous places to be a mother with one in eight women dying from pregnancy related causes compared to one in 4,800 in the U.S. Most women remain ‘invisible’ and do not participate in public life. Although one million girls returned to school in 2002, some are still being attacked by militants who believe they should not be educated.

Point 3. (Opium Trade) Afghanistan is responsible for 90% of the worlds opium or heroin trade.

I think these are some good points, and you know the females will be interested in hearing about equal rights.

One question I have though is this. We are suppose to start out with a bang right off the bat, something to grab peoples attention to make them want to listen and to give meaning and reason to our speech. We have to use a powerpoint and she said our first slide could be the Bang. I was thinking of showing a picture of the world trade center with the planes. However, some people may be offended by it because they just dont want to see it anymore. Do you think it would be negative or positive to use this picture?
If We can help them with those other problems while We are there then Yes they are good reasons. As long as it does not get in the way of our main objective as looking out for the national security of our own country. We need to do what We need to do over there and get out. Let them have their country and give them a chance. If they can't settle on being an ally, then We will be back over there periodically dropping bombs and keeping them in the stone ages. They will end up being our Palistinians. We have to do our best and all we can now. It is only a matter of time until the get a nuke though. We will have one lit off here eventually. I just don't think We will be able to stop all of them and eventually someone will get through. Kind of scares me thinking about it but there are some madmen in the world willing to do it. We have seen that for sure. CF
