Here's the scoop. Healthcare workers are first in line for the shot, followed by adults, then children then those 65 and older. The shots are given in order of likelihood that you will contract H1N1. It isn't a conspiracy nor discrimination. It is statistics and science.

Not all of them. You can go different places for different versions of the shot. The only difference is the medium used.

Research stuff before you go off saying stuff like that. Folks can get seriously hurt or die because they make decisions based on opinion rather than facts.

Wife is a nurse at a major Atlanta hospital. All the docs she works with and other nurses are not taking it. Reason being is that it came out way to fast and not enough trials done on it and since we are older we have a more up to date immune system. It is the younger people that don't have the immune system up to date. All of her docs say not to take it unless your are 30 years and down. So mostly it needs to be done for kids and not for people over 50.
Not to worry cane pole,,,there will be other death panels around the corner.

No sir. based on facts. Based on flu cases by demographics. Simple facts. I am no fan of the proposed health care system, but this one has nothing to do with that.

Has anyone offered to be your "end of life councelor"?
I am in my early 50's. But, I have diabetese, high blood, I am fat, can't hear, and my colestral levels are raising. I am looking for someone to tell me how I should just go ahead and get out of the way and stop taking my meds.

Subject: Fw: good common sense stuff to do to help prevent flu

The following message, I feel makes a lot of sense and
is important for all to know

The only portals of e ntry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a
global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid
coming into contact with H1 N 1 in spite of all precautions. Contact
with H1 N 1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1 N 1
infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms
and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not
fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced
(instead of focusing on how to stock N 95 or Tamiflu):

    1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official
    communications).

    2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch
any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

    3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you
don't trust salt). *H1 N 1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in
the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic
symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling
with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that
Tamiflu has on an infected o ne. Don't underestimate this simple,
    inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

    4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day
with warm salt water. * Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or
Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but
*blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with
cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing
    down viral population.*

    5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C
(Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with
Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost
    absorption.

    6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can.
*Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the
reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the
throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do
    any harm.

I suggest you pass this on to your entire e-list. You never knowwho might pay attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it.

they said here the vaccine wont be around again till december. we were supposed to have neverending supplies of it (according to big govt).we had some but it was gone as soon as it came. i personally wont be getting the shot. i dont know if my doc is right but he said the swine flu is no more deadly than the normal flu but because it is a new strain more people will get it and if you look at the people dying from it there are other underlying issues with their health besides the flu. i think the media is doing a good job blowing this out of proportion
