backto, give up on the other OT forum. It's worthless. It's been worthless from the get go. The format of the forum is bad, trying to navigate it is bad. It's just a POS.

As for the so called problems that occur within this board, it's always someone crying and moaning about something. If they can't get their way by posting about it, they PM CP or Ed and do their best to stir up trouble. When all they really have to do is not comment about something they don't like, or post a comment, but allow others their opinion.

Most folks of C.C that visit and post in this OT forum are fairly open minded peeps that can go with the flow. It's the llamas that want hope and change that screw it all up. Those clowns know who they are too. Most have probably never clicked on one of the advertising links either. Just by clicking some every now and then helps bring money to the site.

As stated earlier, there are all types of boards here that address Crappie fishing. Those of us that have been around awhile have also read the "What line"?, How Deep?, What's the best color?....over 500 times. This OT board is the main place we can talk about anything to the peeps we have grown to love, or hate in the forum.

Whiners, you go somewhere else or belly up and behave. OOT forum, come on, it's a joke.

Read this last night, digested it up until now.
For this post/reply I did the rough mathematics on the OTC which suggests it gains 11 new members a week, roughly speaking that is. As the moderator and proponent of the board I take a certain amount of pride in the board, and have done my fair share of ensuring it's usage is maximized, by supplying updates and help in my spare time. The board has withstood approximately 114 highly controversial and or political and religious posts since it's conception, and not one of them has been deleted or moved. More over, it's been incredibility civil there.

The OTC may not be the top performer across cyber space with all the latest tricks and fonts. However it was one heck of a gift considering Slab didn't need to do more than start banning IP's and user names, or take down the current OT until everyone got the point.

The new board was to prevent the whining about whining, and from what I see all we got was whining for that! If you feel "it's a POS" then feel free not to use it.

The board owner and mods have stated the rules.

That's the way it is. Accept it or move on.

I've been on the internet since the early 80s when we had to be at a college or dial into the college for access. Browsers and such didn't exists but we still had "forums" of sort (pretty much text docs that got passed around and added to) and listservers (basically same as forums but more message (like email on different) based.

There have always been these types of problems. The Owners and Mods always have the authority and right to make the rules, change the rules, and enforce the rules.

If you don't like it then maybe you need a break from the net. Go fishing and ignore the computer for a few weeks. I'm betting you'll feel much better.

C2C maybe it's time for some temporary bans for folks not following the rules after a few warnings?

Beave, old buddy, you may note- I have NOT been insinuating or finger pointing when it comes to who starts what or why it leads there. I say some things in jest, I say some things direct or in pm. But short of John h, no one person is to blame for anything, or... we are all to blame, THAT I do say.

While I registered on the new OT forum initially with good intentions it has failed to keep my interest by lacking any good content or more importantly lacking any real sparring partners. After reading Beaves post and reading DB4D's response , I am compelled to feel the same. The new forum is just a click away and does nothing really to insulate people from whatever it is thats bothering them. After digesting that I can see how silly it really was. The vote meant nothing and the new forum is just a time out of sorts for those of us who aren't even the ones whining. How about starting a whiners forum and the rest of us will certainly stay the heck out of it, But then whiners dont have anyone to whine to do they????

Funny how this whole situation is becoming an us vs them. Us being long time peeps of the OT, them being those who have come to change what they don't agree with.

Funny how this whole situation has actually brought those who lean left, and those who lean right, together to fight those who would rock our OT boat.

E, your post makes perfect sense to me.
With all the latest posts on the OT over the last days, it seems as if the political issues the board rules against, have become civilized and have no need for a hall monitor as many newbies might think.

If the mods of the board just monitor the Moose1am's, and the Johnh's, i.e. those who lose complete and total control of themselves, the OT board will be just fine.

I am positive you and I know each other well enough to be able to work out any difference, no matter how opposite we might be on it.
You're a good guy E, no matter what the rest of the fellers on the right may think.
