You Should Rewrite Your Question. Either Your Brakes Don't Work Or Your Brake Lights Don't Work.:d:d
I have a 2005 Honda Rancher and somehow my foot brake on the right of my 4 wheeler is sticking causing the brake lights to stay on which runs my battery down. After reading the manuel I got not much help on how to fix the brake myself. I can pull it back up into the right spot, but can't use it to stop my four wheeler because it doesn't come back up after pushing it down with my foot. Anyone know how I can fix it without paying a dealer?

Sounds like theyre sticking...mud'll do that. You gonna have to pull the wheel and hub, cleanup and grease spots (just dont get any grease on the pads themselves). That should fix ya up.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Do you have a return spring on the foot pedal? Sounds like it fell off.

I was thinking the same thing.. I know some of the older 3 wheelers had a spring on the brake lever themselves, but on my 2008 rancher 420 I don't see one on the lever, but there is one on the back of the brake drum, you may have caught a limb or something that might have unhooked it.

It sounds like a spring problem as mentioned before or it could be the brake cable itself. I have had them get mud and water in the cable and dry out the lubrication making it too hard for the spring to release the brakes.
