    Default Deer Corn

How much does a 55 gal barrel of corn weigh. I can get it at $30 per barrel vs $5.15 for a 50# bag.

A 55 gal barrel full of deer corn will weigh a LOT more than you want to pick up. You can put prolly 12-15 bags in one. I am guessing of course and trying to remember back when we had a deer feeder in the back of the back yard at home. Seems to me, if you put in 10 bags, that would be $51.50, so you would prolly come out ahead with the barrel.
A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.

The typical weight of feed corn (#2 yellow dent corn) is 56 pounds per bushel. By volume, there is about 8 gallons in a bushel. Thus there is 7 pounds in a gallon of corn

    7 pounds X 55 gallons = 385 lbs (+ OR - a couple of kernals)

    385 / 50 = 7.7 X $5.15 = $39.655

You save $9.66 cents buying it by barrel (plus you get the barrel).

    (Google is your friend) :D

Thanks a bunch. I have to furnish the barrel but I have them already. Looks like the way to go.
