So, no one one here lives near Nashville?
Wife is changing jobs, and I thought we were headed to Huntsville, but now it may be the Nashville area. I can figure out places to fish, but we need to know about where we should live... Something south of town, and preferably not terribly expensive is what I am hoping for... Can someone share some info please?

Clifford, I don't live in Nashville, but I think you might look at the Smyrna area. Traffic in Nashville is worst than bad and most of the main roads are going to have major traffic jams every day. Best to look in smaller towns or more rural areas. Cost is going to be high anywhere around Nashville. I wish I could be more help, but it changes so fast in this area, it's hard to keep up. Best of luck on your move and congrats to your wife on the new job.
Just a suggestion: You may want to post this in the regular Tennessee section, instead of the “off topic “ section. Some folks may not see it especially if they are using a phone
I can’t be of much help otherwise as I am 2 hours north on Kentucky Lake, which will make a great nearby weekend trip.

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
Thanks for the responses guys... I posted it here, because I thought it would be inappropriate in the regular section... But, I guess I will try there now, since I'm not getting much help!
I hate Nashville...Too many peoples and too much traffic.

We were there last weekend for a concert. It’s a fun town, with a whole bunch to do, but it’s a dang expensive town too. I’d hate to know what the actual COL is. I’ve got a good buddy that flips houses and some of the prices I’ve heard him mention on real estate is astronomical. I have no idea what your financial situation is, and frankly it’s none of my business, but I think your best bet would be to look outside of town a decent ways for the best bang for your buck. Anything in Nashville proper is going to be super expensive. The commute will suck, but it might be better than overpaying for a home.
That's exactly why I am asking. We NEED to live somewhere close enough that she can drive no more than 30 minutes to work. But, she isn't locked in on an exact job yet. I am trying to put together some ideas of where she needs to be working and where we can afford to live... This may seem a little cart before the horse to some, but it's all a part of the change of jobs... Just trying to get a grasp of what housing will be like, and what areas to avoid at all cost... It is difficult to be so in the dark...
