Nice and neat
I finally found a couple hours this afternoon to piddle around and install my depth finder on the kayak.
It is an old depth finder I've had on several different boats over the past 8 years but still works fine, picked a small 12v battery from interstate, another power cable and a 3/4 pvc coupling to fit through my scupper hole. The scupper hole is recessed into the kayak so my transducer does not protrude below the bottom to catch any obstructions. (sorry I didn't snap a picture before but will get one when I try it out tomorrow)
there are two tapped screw holes in the back of my unit so I bent a piece of aluminum at an angle, drilled my holes to match and mounted my fish finder on part of the slide tracks to the kayak. Had to notch out the bottom part of the coupling so the transducer sits a little more flush and doesn't kick back at an angle. pulled my wires thru and stuck my battery in my hatch and plugged her up...test run tomorrow.
Nice and neat
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
