Try tartar sauce instead of butter on the hush puppies. Only way I eat them now. Funny thing is I don't care for it on my fish.

That fish definitely was in his tuxedo, Redge. All the ones we have caught at CB, Skiatook, and Blackwell haven't started to turn yet.

Nice to see House Autry made it your way. It is a staple in the seafood restaurants on the Carolina coasts. Been using it for years at our house. For some reason, my MIL called it Autry House. She's been gone a long time now but I still laugh at out futile attempts to correct her pronunciation.

Ann is playing her fiddle outside on the side porch - Ken Burn's Civil War theme song. "Ashokan Farewell" is the name of the song. Excellent out here in the woods on such a nice day.

Had breakfast a few days ago at Cracker Barrel with some colleagues of mine to discuss drilling issues. Haven't been there in years. Looked at the menu. It had various things such as "sunshine breakfast, country man's delight, etc.". As usual at restaurants, told the girl what I wanted - three eggs scrabbled, hash browns, and bacon.

To my delight, she brought out a biscuit as well. That there fellas was excellent! Best biscuit I've ever had. I told Ann that when I got home. Her normal biscuits work fine as a filler on the limestone driveway. She promptly found the recipe for the Cracker Barrel biscuits. Excellent I must say.

Heavy storm blew through this morning with gale force winds. My place looks like it was hit by a hurricane. Large tree branch barely missed the truck, within inches. Snapped the top off three trees crossing the driveway - trapped here, can't get out - yet. Looks like another busy day for me:
