I know that feeling Danny, but with me it not a state thing but a canal thing.

Those walleyes are definitely great eating. My son (Montana Boy) went to Door County in Wisconsin and caught over 200. The guys he went with were complaining that the fishing wasn't as good as normal.
Back in the 60's, we used to go to Lac LaRonge in northern Saskatchewan. We'd catch 6-8 pound fish as fast as you could get a big hair jig tipped with pike belly meat into the water.

He's gonna try it here in Michigan, I'll bring a package of fillets just for him at Michigan's fish camp.
While he's here, we are also gonna give it a shot to get him his first walleye.
    Should be a fun time.

    Toledo Bend tops the list.
Followed by D'Arbonne, Poverty Point, Saline-Larto complex, and the Atchafalaya Basin - Henderson.

Ann made a serious pineapple upside down cake - from scratch, not from a box folks buy at Walmart:

We'll have some crab stuffed crappie fillets topped with red bell peppers and onions baked low and slow. Along with that, some crab stuffed mushrooms will work nicely.
