Default Very happy with the end Result

I was not happy when the Rifle for deer hunting scope moved on the gun. the Remington 30.06 would put 5 shots in a 4 inch group at 150 yards ---- never made a shot that far but confident longer range would be ok as well. I loosened all 4 allen screws 1/2 turn and it was not enough to slide it in the mount. another 1/4 turn each -- Success --- so I tightened to the starting point.. This evening I put out Corn and 3 Pounds of Pecans for the deer at the food Plot ---- I took a milk carton and set it up for a Target,,,, it has a 3 inch square on the label. 95 paces to the stand for a good rest . I hit the square on the edge of the right and dead level with the center------- with one shot it is right where I want it for now. When I moved the scope it was loaded with oil between the mount and the scope

Yeah, it's legal here, but I wish it wasn't. I stopped years ago because I was concerned that it wasn't good for the deer, and because I did not want to attract hogs. The trouble is that when everyone around you puts out corn you will see fewer deer on your property (unless you grow a food plot).

Deer Hunting at my place is almost a thing of the past --- My neighbor about 800 yards has people over and shoots 80 to 100 rounds 3 or 4 times a week if it aint raining they are shooting 5 to 6 different guns. my food plot is 350 yards from the house ---- they start this non-since two months before season opens and the deer are nocturnal before archery starts My trail cameras show deer move between 11 and 2 am ---- I have not got but one deer here in the past 5 years. --- being retired and could hunt any time it is a pain in the arss--- Target practice starts 2 hours before dark........ i dont think one shot could possably hurt - 11 Years ago mom had part of the land clear cut. when squirrel season opened l was walking across it going to hunt the creek bottom --- I got shot at four times- the sound of a bullet missing your head is something not forgotten.. the last two shots came as I was Crawling out Last year one deer was shot and others joined in the chase,, they shot at the wounded deer 38 times and crossed five other Peoples property without permission. I dont know if they brought it home or ran out of bullets.... with all the practice they should be able to hit a golf ball at 500 yards, but that aint happening or I would be dead. Now to answer the question about Pecans , it is a tossup if Squirrels or deer like them the most. the Deer crack them spitting out most of the hulls, and id it comes from the inside of the nut they are not spitting it out.....with 2, 5 gal buckets fron last year, a lot of them were going badand starting to become Rancid but they do taste better than an Accorn. The Squirrel will haul them off for later but the deer want them now

An after thought --- Dried Corn is hard to chew and good untill the Acorns fall. they come back to the corn after their favorite food is gone
