I attached some bungee cords to the edge and pulled it down tight to the boat and attach to the trailer. You need to be sure you close it off around the motor.

I use a tarp to cover my boat in the driveway and a cat has taken up residence under it and really funked up my boat. I put moth balls out but they had no effect. Short of killing the cat, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep it out of my boat? I was thinking of putting rubber snakes in it.

I would head over to Lowe's HIW and pick up some of this:
Bonide-Go-Away-1-lb-Granules-Pour-Bottle-Animal-Repellent
I would not put it directly on the boat but in aluminum pie pans, two or three in different places in the boat.
It won't take long and the cat will be history.
I know when you have trouble with them getting on cars, black pepper around the car usually does the trick!

We don't do that around these parts John, not the way we roll. That's downright rude. Terry (Tbone): if you were closer, I'd bring Ernie over to investigate. He'd play with it until it's had enough then move on. He does that with lizards regular, except he plays with them until they're dead. Lays on his back, throws into the air, and everything. Knucklehead from the word go. Seriously, I believe mothballs would work.

It's not really rude Randy and I suspect there are folks in your parts that would do the same. Once a tom cat starts he aint gonna quit, when Ms Tammy had cats she knew it would not be tolerated, nuisance animals are just that. By the way, if I thought it was a neighbors I would see if we couldn't solve the problem but if not I would tend to it.

Okay John, I'm cool with that. I understand what you are saying.

Well, as I said in the original post, I'm looking for anything short of killing it. The cat's feral but the neighbors feed it and have some interaction. It's just looking for a dry place to sleep and I can't fault it for that. I just wish it'd look somewhere else. I think I'm going to try closing off all the access points first and if that doesn't work, use the pepper.
