Josh, I have never planted a fall garden but my hydroponics is done so I'm thinking about planting some more tomatoes in it as we don't get much of a winter either. Pawpaw gene should chime in here shortly, I think he is our gardening expert. When I grow up, I want to be like him, well the knowledge anyway, not sure about the hat! Sorry pawpaw, couldn't resist!

You can plant fall tomatoes right now and cucumbers during the 1st week of September, according to Almanac. Many people plant typical winter vegetables, such as lettuce, mustard greens, turnips, kale, brussel sprouts, carrots, among others. I enjoy gardening very much, although I don't usually grown a winter garden. This year, I think I will.

    Hello Josh,
As Dwayne said there is plenty to plant. Myself I planted my okra late and will harvest until frost or I get tired. I planted about 180 feet of bush snap beans (Contenders). It's a great time to plant beets, turnips, mustard, cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower and more. I won't be doing it this year because I have the beans planted, but I like to plant some of each. Here is a link to LSU AG site showing what to plant and when, plus some other useful info. Page 3 and 4 had suggestion for spring and fall.

Dwayne you just wish you had a hat like mine to hang on your wall with your super duper king sze crappie jig.

    Good luck Josh,

I plant all the same as in spring that are early maturing. I also plant all what has been previously mentioned. I will plant as soon as the garden dries out. It was tilled before the rains and settled in with the drainage slopes. I might try this weekend. These daily quick showers won't give me a break.

I'm going to plant most of what was mentioned, also mrs Williams and I are taking a 13 week garden class. I'm pretty excited about that.

Yeah me too, as soon as I get my boat back from the shop. That will probably be another week or so.
