Why would you have to get permits? That's a bummer for sure.

Many had no flood insurance, because the water never been this high before.
Praying for the best Danny. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I don't know Randy but I would bet the government wants their hands in your pockets, again! Danny, I'm glad all the family is ok. Prayers will be continued for your family and the area. I remember going through this for Rita and Ike at my mom and dad's house. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

They wont turn on the electric until repairs are approved.Safety issues. That is what they said on the news. It will slow down the process for sure. Right now, when they let us get to the house, we just gonna cut sheetrock, clean up, save what we can and start bleaching. Not sure about the A/C. Any one know if that can be saved? Also, got to deal with the 2 cars they flooded.

Make sure and get a termite treatment done. Anything there before is gone now. Most do not think of that and in a few years you have a mess again.

Mike, flooding continues. Water over I 10, I 12 and now Airline around greenwell springs and good wood area. I know you are familiar with that area. The old Don's has about 7 ft in it, the boat place where I bought my boat at airline/winbourne also is about 6 ft. Boats floating in the yard all over.

I-10 closed in Lafayette as well at the moment. High water moving south, some areas in Youngsville and St. Martinville have 8 ft. and still rising. River here has dropped a half an inch. We'll be paddling for a while it seems. Needs to drop another foot before we can cross in the low area. We feel fortunate that at least we're high and dry on the island we are at now.

Take care folks. If you need a place to stay, paddle on over.

It sure can as long as everything is dried out completely, and I do mean everything. Have helped folks with that.
