    Default PaPa and Zak

This is the pond that the guy from Gonzales drowned in this week. He was about 100 yards from the pier in the pic. Some of you locals may have heard about it. No life jacket on or with from my understanding. The pic is from a few weeks ago. This is my daughter's back yard.

Yea, it will be a while before it feels the same. We have a lot of fun on that pier.

That's a bummer. Make sure those grand chillens get swim lessons.

JR they are great swimmers. Been in the water since they were 2. But I do still worry. The young one in the picture can be a little brave sometimes.

Ditto on that JR. Wouldn't let mine in the boat until they had swim lessens.

I forgot to add, in fact they are already wake boarding. Both are water bugs. Went over for a little while and fished with them today. I hung a crank bait, so my SIL went out in his little boat to free it. That was the first time anyone has been on the lake in a boat since the man drowned last week. Found out he could not swim, his son who is a weak swimmer tried to save him. 11 ft of water. They did have life jackets in the boat. 15 x 4 jon boat. Typical for the neighborhood. Still sad. Had a good talk with the boys about what to do if they fall out, but as long as they don't get knocked out, they can easily swim to the bank. Both are very strong swimmers.
