Sorry I missed your Birthday Randy, this is the first I've been on in a few days.
I am sure you had a fine day anyway with the family you have and the food you cook.
I know the heart felt wishes do mean a lot too, so add my wishes along with Connie's to the list.

We did Randy's birthday crawfish boil yesterday. The boys cooked up an exceptional batch! Randy scored a gift card from the new Field and Stream that opened up along with a reprint of the original 1911 Boy Scout handbook.

Crawfish, fresh sausage, onions, corn, whole garlic, and tators. That there is probably a fourth of it. After boiling, put into an ice chest to steam. Scoop out portions at a time so all stays warm.

My daughter, son in law, and grandson there. Of course Ernie is always by my side. It was fun, really enjoyed it.

Fried up some shrimp and gator this evening. I used the light tempura beer batter, really don't care for the thick cornmeal stuff when frying. I like tasting what I fry, not the batter, which I don't do much often. Have to watch the girlish figure. Will be serious with malt vinegar. Ann used the tators from yesterday's crawfish boil to make a tator salad. That right there goes head-to-head with ChuckTx's partner Bill's tator salad he brings to Toledo Bend:

Will finish it up with a piece of coconut cream pie Ann made yesterday. I didn't share the pie with the family yesterday because I'm selfish.
