Bummer Joe, at least you and Anna will be good. Sounds like something similar happened to us last Winter (a couple of months ago). The propane gas valve went out on the furnace - unit probably 15 years old. Had to convert the natural gas valve to propane. Somewhat a hassle, but done. In the meantime, fired up the second unit in the addition along with the fireplace and we were good. If all else failed - into the shop we go. Have had to do that during Hurricanes on occasion.

Yeah, the house is 8 years old and about time for some things to be breaking down I'm told. Next unit will probably last 20 years and that will be good.

I have met and spoke with new neighbors on both sides and the folks that owned the home prior to us did not maintain things properly. Found out the back acre was
not mowed for 2 years until just before they put it on the market. Got lots of grass burs to eliminate now. Good thing I like to mow and have a large zero turn. Will
pour on the fertilizer for a few months to get them under control. Got me a grass catcher too. Amdro'ed the yard today and did some weed eating. Fun ahead.

Took a vacation day today. Have to use them up, it's either use them or lose them. Latched onto one of my trailers and off to get 57 limestone at daylight. Showed up at the yard and Keith said "the usual?" Said yes, two yards please. I know some of you folks will say use graystone, etc. because it's cheaper. I knows what works, been doing it for a long time. Shoveled that off in some low spots, will get some more tomorrow. Good for the back. Parked that trailer, then off to the feed store. The fella said there "how many Alfalfa bales today Randy?" Loaded that, then off to Beaux's Mart. Walked straight into the back and told Karl Breaux I'm smoking a brisket tomorrow, let's see what you got. He pulled some out, and I chose one. I said good, lets stuff it and season it. I supervised. Vacuum wrap it so marinates this evening.

Stopped by both Home Depot and Lowes on my way back to the house. Looking for wood lap siding for a wall inside the second room in the addition, such as we have upstairs now. You know, the kind that is skinny on one edge, and thick on the other. Those folks told me that's old school, but can be special ordered at $5.00 a board foot. What! No way, I'll come up with something shortly. Not doing the Walmart sheetrock.

Back at the house, fired up the tractor and started cutting grass. Did get a bunch done until the rain started pouring down. Back to it, thought I'd share.

No sheetrock at walmart. lol You were born about 2 centuries too late. I took my friend Warren to the boat and sportsman show in Gonzales. He is coming around. His appetite is getting better and his spirits were great today. Does his second chemo monday. He even made a joke about prematurely losing his hair 20 years ago. I was glad to see he is thinking ahead and not giving up. Was a good day for my spirits as well.
