"D" what did you do at Exxon ?
I think he is talking about the large companies George. They aren't going anywhere just yet. They still make billions. For example look at the amount of money BP has paid over the rupture in the gulf and they are still in it. I retired from Exxon and I like the lower price at the pump, because my investments have taken a beating with the oil stocks dropping. Small companies certainly take it harder. It is a catch 22.

I was A Industrial Electrican, with A company that worked exclusuvely in explosve enviorments for Gas Plants. when Obama was running for office he promised Penalties to the oil and Gas industries. the Gas industry responded by stopping Contract maint. to their plants. It almost put my employer out of Business. I had Two Years before I could take a early retirement. There were so many Electricans out of work the only way you got hired was to have Kids at home. I have first hand experience what thousands of familys will go through. My heart goes out to them.
I was an operator, first line super, operations controller and fire captain for 12 years. Made rubber in a chem plant. The last 10 yrs or so I worked the O.C. job. It was also a first line super job(salary). Mostly I sat in front of 12 screens and operated the unit and gave direction to the outside hands. It was a good job.
I had one of those "A" operator jobs at a Petrochemical job many years ago...too bad I couldn't stand Houston and moved away!
