He wants a ratio or 70% pork to 30% deer. He has 11 pounds of deer meat so to have 70% pork to 30% deer the formula is 70/30=11/X where X is the unknown amount of pork needed. When you solve the equation for X you get 30(X)=70(11) which results in X=2.3(11) or 25.6 lbs. of pork needed.

Okay, now I see what he was saying, I re-read the original post and "I" was totally wrong. My eyes read faster than the brain was working. I always well I'll leave it at that. Now I understand. Thank you SeaRay for explaining it to me.

Then flatten out home made pre-cooked biscuits, wrap biscuit around sausage along with a thin slice of cheddar cheese (called kolaches). Then bake until golden brown. It's a tradition we have here at home we do every Christmas morning for the past several years. Thought I'd share.
Randy, we use the Boston Butts. We kept waiting for them to go on sale to stock up but they never did. We usually have the sausage made earlier than this. It usually last each of us almost a year. That maple recipe sounds good!
