Enjoyed your story and your post. Can't have good BBQ without a small side of jalapenos - like that. Ann and I have BBQ'd and smoked for so long, we couldn't live without it. Had homemade fresh strawberry pie with mine last night
Me and Peggy fired up the BBQ Pit yesterday and threw some riblets on we had been marinating for a couple days. Slap ya mama good,
They were as great as they look , and the rest of the pictures and story are here:

No sir, not at all, keep them coming as far as I am concerned. Make your own BBQ sauce? Some of the store bought stuff is okay, try this:
Cane-Bourbon BBQ Sauce
6-oz can tomato paste
1 cup bourbon
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Steen's cane syrup
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbls molasses
2 tbls Worcestershire sauce
2 tbls Louisiana Hot Sauce
2 tbls dried ancho chili powder (or smoked paprika if you don't have it)
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp mustard powder
Whisk together over med - high heat, bring to simmer, cooked until reduced to about half. Enjoy

Man that sounds good. I'll have to get Peg to write down her sause recipe, but I look forwards to makin that recipee mine. I'd loose the cumen and soy and change the Louisiana to Crystal and claim its my secret.
