Don't miss the strawberry pies in season also. Yes you can tell from my shape I have been there a few times(more than a few). Closer to Toledo Bend is a place called Hemphill BBQ on the Texas side. Their home made pies are awesome also. Especially the coconut. (yes, ate a few of those also)

Back when I was a kid, my dad would stop at Lea's on our way to Ville Platte and pick up a pie for my grandfather. Great place, but I don't remember ever seeing Lea himself. Wish I had though, from that video on Johnny Carson, he sounds like a hoot!Thanks for sharing PPG! Good memories from my childhood are always fun to stir up again.
