Didn't take any photos but last night was the peak of the annual Perseids meteor shower. Saw 32 between 4-5:30 a.m. If it's clear where you are, there will still be some flying tonight.
The 1st pic is the southwest skyline and the 2nd is southeast...didn't fish today....but.........sure wished I was......

Sorry, fishervet, I've been out of town and didn't see your post in time to reply. Watching meteor showers has been a family tradition for decades. There are several more meteor showers this year. Here's a link to the showers but it's usually not worth your time unless it shows at least 20 per hour. I don't know where they get their estimates because I've never seen as many per hour as they show. I just like laying out and watching the stars, satellites and God's creation. You have to be patient.

The 2 best are the Leonids about Nov. 17 and the Geminids about Dec. 14. I think the Geminids are the second best of the year after the August Perseids but it can be awfully cold sometimes to stay out and watch. You can Google them to get a more precise time for the best time to watch.
