    Default High Rock 03/10

I met Gilby1955 at Tamarac about 7pm for a night fish. Got everything in the boat and we were ready to go, but the motor wasn't. Kinda figured something stupid would happen since Gilby had to drive so far to get there. With a little coaxing and some cussing thrown in for good measure she decided to crank and we were off. We fished from dark to Midnight. Man, it was slow. Water was a little muddy and started out at 56 * cooling to 53* by Midnight. It was slow for most of night with a few flurries thrown in. Fish were 8'-12' down in 27 ' of water. Had two lights down (white light at the surface and green 10 foot down) to start with, later I moved both to the surface but they seemed to like the dark better so I cut off the white light. We brought home 15 decent crappie and threw back about that many, Smallest fish kept was a fat 9 3/4''. Speaking of fat , just about everyone of those fish looked like they had a ball in their belly.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Glad you got the motor going and got to fish. Sounds like you did good. The fish I caught Sunday were FAT too. Looked like they were about to pop.
