Default Anyone got a report on Stagecoach road ?

I fished there this time last year and found some real nice crappie there using minnows. Most were using jigs only fishing for white bass and I caught a few of them also but was impressed with the size of the crappie that I got there and noone was targeting them at all. Anyone doing any fishing there recently?

Default I rode by there today...

and by the looks of it, the white bass have arrived. i've been in philly for the last 3 years, but i don't ever remember seeing stagecoach that packed. i guess word gets around.

i was there two sundays ago and didn't get any hits jigging for crappie, but in the past i have seen some nice ones pulled out of there. usually it was by the rocks across to the left.

my question is, do the same spring spawning rules apply to the crappie at stagecoach? i really don't have any idea how deep it is in there, but i do know the middle of the pool is quite shallow, but i'm not sure about the depth by the spillway out to the rocks. being that the whitebass fishing was always so great there, i never concentrated on crappie.

anyway, i'll be out there sometime this weekend. i'm hitting up some jordan boat dock until then. the crappie should be on with this warm up this week.

Welcome kevb. I have fished there with minnows and the crappie are there, I caught some nice ones in there with the white bass. The bass didnt seem to want minnows so much but the crappie ate them up. I fished up to 5 foot deep in spots in there as I recall. The whites just wanted something different than a minnow it seemed. They liked it moving with some color or flash. Ive seen them hit blade bates and white curly tail jigs under a float that was twitched regularly to draw the strike. That blade bait worked good. Was the water still flowing over the spillway?

Default I may check it out

at lunch today. I am real interested in seeing what the water level looks like. Fishcrazy, I am for sure going to fish Sat morning if the weather holds up. Just not sure where I am going to fish at. Stagecoach may be the place to be. I think we will catch bigger fish there. If I go I will be sitting there at the bridge before the sun comes up. Let me know if you plan on heading out there..

I dont know if I can wait that long! lmao I got it bad. Looking at lures now to feed em. I know I have some rooter tails somewhere. Im spooled with 6 pound test now. Think I need more for the whites. I remember you saying you used 15 pound last year I think. Saturday they are calling for rain so that will screw up Sunday I guess. If we get much of it that is. I may try to do an early morning before work thing or after work thing.

Guy posted a report on NC Angler board on Stagecoach and he had a good catch there. Fished where you like to fish Buzz and said he got them off of a hump out from the bank with roadrunners.

    Default 6lb will be fine..

I have been using 8lb test the past 2 years. I works fine for me. 6 would allow you to cast a little further with lighter baits but you get hung up you are more likely to get it back with 8lb test. Keep me posted on when you go out I may try to hook up with you one morning. I can do any morning and fish till around 8am, and Thursday afternoon I can get out there around 5:30. Either eno or stagecoach in the mornins but I like to stick to the eno in the afternoons since it's close to home.

I can't wait till I get into some of those 3lb ers.
