Great advice
Found the fish suspended 20-25 feet in 36-40 fow about mid south lake. They are feeding on the baitfish that are 30 feet deep. If you find the baitfish put out your baits at that depth early. After 9:30 they will suspend just above the bait balls.
They don’t want a moving bait. You could get them spider rigging at .1 or use livescope and a long pole. They are scattered. Tip on finding the baitfish is look for the loons. They were diving down 30 feet feeding on the shad. Good luck if you go this weekend should be good. I used a 1/16 hitman hairjig that had a lot of sparkle in it. They smashed that bait the best. Second best was a slab slayer black and chart on 1/16 head. Smaller baits were better. It took me about an hour to figure out this pattern so hopefully this helps someone.

Nice report. Welcome to the site by the way. I live about 15 minutes from Harris Lake and have been looking forward to the fish getting deeper.
While I've managed to catch 50 - 60 each trip, they have not yet been the quality of fish that I expect this time of year.
I'm planning to hit it one day or two next week. Thanks for sharing.

We fished Harris two days this week and found fishing good. All tournament fish above 1.5 we through back and kept the "smaller ones". I think most, if not all, of the so-called smaller fish were over a pound.
