    Default Crankbaits on High Rock

Well you know it is about time to pull out all my crankbaits. Tried the Rock on Sunday. Really should have checked wind forcast. Hard to troll at 1.5 mph in gale force winds. Had to get on main lake close to bank to stay out of wind but of course no shad or fish there. Finally tried it in a couple of creeks and finally found a few shad in shallower water and picked up a couple before the wind just got too bad. But it is time!

Don’t know unless you go they say. Hopefully you’re on them before long.

Do you usually pull just out in the main lake?

No. I usually start in the creeks this time of the year. Another 3 weeks or so and they will move out to main lake if like a usual year.

Glad to hear you were out there trying. I hope you have good luck next try and, in the weeks, to come.

I just respooled my line counters and completed inventory on my cranks.......was planning on maybe one or two more dock shooting trips before I turned to cranking for the summer but I agree, it's close.

What water temp did you have? I saw upper 60's at the end of the day last week.

Has anyone ever tried cranks on wateree with any success? I've been thinking of giving it a try when the water warms up a little more. Between work and the weather I've only been fishing 4 times this year. Wateree is my closest lake. I've trolled jigs the few times I've been and caught some nice fish but I really like pulling cranks and with the water warming up I'm getting that crank fever.
