    Default Fishin' With Crappiekrazy....

.....and a couple of friends. I headed up to Burlington and met up with Crappiekrazy and 2 others. ..... We got there at 6:30 and already there were boats there so we headed a couple hundred yards. Crappiekrazy said he had fished there last week and it was a good spot.

That was an understatement. 2 of us in the back of the boat fishing 3 downlines each and 2 in the front casting jigs. It was nearly impossible to keep the downlines in the water all at once. We had multiple hook ups throughout the day and there were long periods when the casters were catching a fish on every cast. We fished 'til noon and the only time we slowed down was the few minutes it took to swing around the point and go up the Haw River a ways and the fishing was equally as good; Never have I experienced action that hot for such a long time. We could see all the other boats doing as well. We caught easily 100 fish, most of them legal but we only kept fish over 11" at first then raised our criteria to over 12" realizing we didn't want to spend hours cleaning fish. We came home with 27 and threw back dozens of legal fish.

Those are some big ones. Sounds like a great day of fishing with friends. Not many better ways to spend a day.

What boat landing did you use to access that area?

I honestly don't know as that area is a long way from my stompin' grounds. I'm on the road but if I hear from the krazy one I'll let you know.

1/8 oz jigs with pink/white, orange/chartreuse, purple/chartreuse, and pretty much any other color. All tipped with minnows.
