To those of you that have tried or used the spinnyminnies, tipped with minnows, from Southern Crappie, what is your opinion of them?? If you have had success with them, are there there any colors that seem to work better than others. Comments please!!!

I bought some painted and a pack of unpainted. Haven’t used them yet though.
Ed is about 10 minutes from me. I was in his shop last week picking up a couple more rods. I started using spinnie's last winter with success.
Color can depend a lot on the body of water you are fishing. Where I fish, Chart./black, smurf, popsicle work well, but I usually catch them on multiple colors.

My field testing is on hold, winds forecasted at 15-25 make boat handling no fun. I was looking forward to trying these lures out. It won’t be long I’ll get out for some research.

I've used them for a couple of years and really like them. The first time I had one in my hand I thought the hook was much too small. Last spring we landed a bass about 6 pounds on one that was hooked so solid I had to take pliers to get it loose.

When I was fishing regular I did really well with them. Plan on ordering a few this weekend.
Getting ready to order some of these myself.
My only complaint is losing them. If you are one to lose jigs frequently, at over $2 ea., they are an expensive jig head. I know Ed uses his tightlining and longlining, always with a minnow.
I would suggest using them in a manner and/or with line heavy enough to not lose them frequently.

Has anyone tried painting an unfinshed body of a spinnieminnie; if so, method used ,air brush , artist brushes or just fingernail polish out of the bottle to develop your personal color pattern????
