I went to the main page for crappie.com and did a search for edenton. It turned up some places like mill pond, dismal swamp and Roanoke river. Might be worth some more reading of old posts until someone else posts on this one. Welcome by the way.
Any advice for fishing around Edenton or the lower portions of the Albemarle for Crappie? Would like to find some areas this Spring close to home.

You need to talk to Crappie Farmer. He lives near Edenton but unfortunately he doesn't get on here much anymore. Do a search for his posts in NC and VA. It will take some time but well worth it.

There is a crappie tournament club called the albemarle crappie trail, there in Facebook and seem like a good group, ya might wanna reach out to them
Lower Roanoke and Cashie creeks hold them, Perquimans River,
Yellow Perch should be starting right about now. I like the North River. It's been 4 years since I've made the drive from Raleigh though.
Cashie and North River. both are good and beautiful rivers
The yellow perch bite has been on FIRE in the NR!!!!!! but it has been getting HAMMERED!!!
Most all the Tributaries to the Albemarle Sound have great crappie populations. Sometimes the bite is better on one river by far over the others and this changes on a weekly basis. The best bite for everywhere would usually come in the fall. Winter can be tough on some places but you can generally find them biting on at least one river. Roanoke has not been very good over the last year because of excessive rains. There are 3 lakes well up the Roanoke that are dumping water constantly. It has run mud for over a year now. Not many 2 pounders are caught down this way but lots of 1.25 to 1.50 fish if you know where to look.CF
