Well they say every dog has his day. Well yesterday was mine and GeneC's Old Dogs Day as we were able to win Bobcat's Crappie Trail tournament held yesterday on Buggs Island Lake/Kerr Reservoir. Our winning weight for 7 crappie was 15.37lbs, an all time biggest weight for the 13 or so years this tournament trail has existed. Our catch was anchored by Gene's big fish of the tournament which weighted an impressive 3.27 pounds.
We would like to thank God, our wives, our family, and all our friends for their love and support allowing us to pursue our fishing passion. All of our fish were released alive to go make lots of babies so us and others can enjoy this sport that we love in the future!
Congratulations to all who fish this trail. Come join us in the fun.
Here are a few pictures.

Nice fish fellas Does the tournament do any post fishing write-ups on the teams and the techniques used, like some of the bass tourneys do? Like water depth\temps and how the fish were caught (no spot burning of course)..neat info to read about. I know Livescope is gaining popularity every where and was wondering how it factored in with the anglers in the field...gonna go out on a limb and guess it was a major factor in the top spots. Hoping the fish are starting to make a move to the creeks.
