I get what you are saying but in my example I didn’t even mention a specific area or anything. I just can’t and won’t ever be able to be like that. If somebody needs a little direction and I have it then I will gladly give it. Thanks for your input.

In my line of work a “report” is who, what, when and where, very specific

I hope you find some fish and have a good time doing it
Thanks NC Crappie thanked you for this post

My Father went to Robeson Creek a few years ago and got a good mess of crappie. He decided to go back the next day. It may have been a rookie error, but someone posted on here that the fish were biting in Robeson. Next day it was slammed end-to-end with boats.

One thing I will say about tournament fishing is the tremendous amount of knowledge I have learned from other folks. There are a lot of nice guys that have helped coach me and I am a better fisherman today because of their help.

Agree and thanks. We don’t have to be specific about locations and color of jigs but if just rained 9.5 inches a couple of days ago it can’t hurt to let people know if has cleared up or a mud hole.

After reading all these comments, I agree with both sides. I have to share my store that set me off:

As many know I prefer striper/hybrid fishing over anything. I was on a hot bite about 4ish years ago (before i started guiding) and posted something about it here and mentioned that im going the next day at a particular ramp. I kid you not that next morning I had 4 boats idling awaiting my arrival. I did send them on a goose chase going elsewhere, but lesson learned.

I get bombarded by questions from time to time here. I do not mind. But those asking id assume respect the fact that they are getting answers from 15-18+ years of knowledge learned from trial and error. A lot of time spent, lots of gas burned. I can give someone advise on where to go, but it doesnt mean they can catch them.
Full day 1/2 day or evening Striper/Crappie fishing trips available at a very affordable price for
Lake Norman, Badin, Wateree, High Rock.
Individual maker of the heavy duty "hybrid" A-rig Trolls just like an umbrella rig, Guaranteed to put fish in the boat

I agree Pete, you don’t have to give up your hole but letting folks know the lake is clear and what depth you are doing good at doesn’t hurt.

The one point I will make on here is this. If you have nothing to offer then don’t offer negative thoughts to others. I will help anybody I can but some will not. We all agree on that.

Dont go fishing based off a report only. This is the internet. People will lie to you. Some of my worse days of fishing have been "chasing a report".

If the conditions are less than optimal, find a new section of lake, ride it, make a few casts (or pulls). If ya find something, but it in the memory bank to use it some other time!

A successful fishing trip has nothing to do with catching. If i pull up to the dock at the end of the day with everything working, nothing broken, all people accounted for, no one bleeding and hopefully smiles on the clients face, it was a dang good day! (of course a few jokes thrown in there).

Now tomorrow morning ill be taking a little ride to Badin with my puppy and see how the clarity looks like. Have several guys ready for a fishing trip with just a phone call once conditions are right. Ill let ya know what is seen.

Thanks Pete! I don’t rely on reports as I have been Crappie fishing 40+ years but since I have been on a hiatus for a year I just wanted to know if High Point, Badin or Jordan was clear after the rain and if they were biting. It was really innocent and non inclusive.

Caught plenty of fish at Jordan Tuesday. As strong as tht wind was, you can narrow down where I was fishing. Fish were in about 12-15' of water, but I'd assume the cold will push them a little deeper. Water temp was 62-63* where I fished, and about 61 at Ebeneezer ramp, where I put in at.
