the future of crappie fishing is artificial only, might be something to consider aswell, also what kinda rod limit are you thinking of having?
i have a livescope, ain't pulling the ducer but i will certainly just unhook the head unit and leave it in the truck, though i can't say as i have ever won a tournament due to my livescope, i personally think its just an excuse people who don't have one use, its not dynamite, you might can see something you think might be a crappie but that don't mean its gonna bite
on the other hand though there are folks who would really struggle without a livescope, its just another tool
i do like the idea of no prefishing just go have at it blind, you could make it a big deal the evening before like drawing a name out of a hat, i know of a bass club that does that, guys that only get the weekends off really like it
you only need a permit if you have over X amount of boats, i think its over 10 i cannot remember, better call to be sure, and you can always avoid a fee by having the wieghin elsewhere, lots of bait and tackleshops would llike to have a bunch of boats in the parking lot, somebody is gonna wonder in and buy something if nothing but a drink and a pack of nabs, you might even get them to sponsor the tournament
