Very nice! I need to make some navigational lights for my canoe so I can enjoy some fishing when it's a bit cooler!
Got out for a rare evening paddle on Roberson creek last night. The surface temperature was a hot 87 degrees and I wasn’t marking a whole lot of fish inside of the creek.
Outside, I marked a lot more fish and ended up landing a total of 4 - two small crappie, a white perch, and a white bass, all on 200 series Arkie crappie cranks.
For the regular crank pullers, when the water is that warm, should I be fishing deeper or shallower? I marked a lot of fish around the 7’-9’ range where I’d expect the lures to be, but the bite seemed pretty slow. Wasn’t sure what I should try differently next time to get more bites.
At least the sunset made the trip worthwhile.

I use a Scotty 823 Sea Light. It fits in all of the mounts I have all over my kayak and on my canoe.

I usually pull the bandit 300s this time of the year down around 15’or 16 foot usually in 20 to 25 fow. You can sometimes catch them up shallow especially early morning but by 9 I have all 300s on. I look for bait not so much fish for pulling cranks. Always have at least one silver and one orange on.
Does anyone pull cranks on Jordan? My dad lives up that way and he wants to go fishing. Thought I might take my crank rods with my and give it a try.

I just did some crank pulling for about an hour this morning on Jordan, no luck but I was marking fish in the mouth of the creek going into the main channel near the dam. I switched over to single pole with livescope and jigs in 14' cove near the the s-curves and got on em... all 9-10 inch range. It was a short time out but was fun but hot... I didn't get on the lake till 10 and only stayed till 1:30...it was video game style almost right under the boat. Sent from my SM-G988U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I got a chance to play with the Livescope a bit when I went out fishing with a crappie guide (Freddie Sinclair) last year. I thought it was really great, but just can’t justify spending that kind of money right now to catch a few extra fish. Maybe when the prices come down or people start getting rid of their old units to upgrade to 2.0....
I have taught myself how to bottom fish and troll for crappie, but haven’t really targeted brush piles yet. I think that may be my focus over the next year or so. Thanks for the tips everyone!
