It's fine. The 3rd arm and leg that started to grow when I started fishing there in 2002 is barely noticeable!
I read a mixed bag about falls lake. Just haw bad is it? Is it safe to eat the fish. Is it safe to have your hands in it. Is it temporary by seasons. Is it agriculture run off. Anyone know?

Yes totally poisonous, not safe to eat. Pleasure boaters and bass tournaments are taking a huge risk, and should spend all their time at Jordan!
If you see my boat out there, don’t worry, I’m just checking it out for you guys!

There is an area of the lake that historically has problems in the heat of summer. I don't know if they call it an algae bloom, but it is similar. They will close the beach for a few days until the testing gets back to normal. Like Jordan, Falls has a high level of nitrogen and phosphorus. Other than the middle of the summer, it is a great problem to have. Those massive schools of filter-feeding shad sure love the phytoplankton that is fed by those nutrients!!
Also the beach at the beaver dam access. Which incidentally are both closed now anyway.
A serious response to the original question, the fish in Falls Lake are perfectly safe. I keep and eat crappie all winter long. I don’t eat summer fish, only because we catch enough good eating fish down east. When we use the lake in summer we are usually pleasure boating first and fishing second.
