Dh what part of the lake were you fishing? How muddy or trashy is the rock? Thought about trying to pull some cranks tomorrow or Wednesday but not if it is trashy. Have to work too hard clearing lines. Lol
Back out to get um today. Same ole. I am feeling a little frustrated catching so many 5 to 7 in crappie. This time last year I was catching mostly 10 to 12 in Fish after years of mostly dinks. Thought the lake had done a nice rebound, but this year back to the old days. Managed 5 decent fish out of about 35 by noon. Kept the small ones to be released into Reedy Creek. Any feedback would be helpful.

Fished Abbotts Creek south of Holloway Bridge. Water was as muddy as last week but very little floating floating debris.

In my personal opinion. You're seeing the result of a good spawning year for that size of fish. With a bad year on either side. The spawn has been up and down for a few years. Last year was the best I can remember recently with this year being the worst. At least from my experience. Just my penny. A slot size may help but it will never happen. Like Monk always said. North Carolina DNR doesn't really care to keep up with anything. They're mediocre at best.
Weather, water levels and etc. It was on again, off again. On again, off again most of this year. I can't imagine that is good for spawning numbers. Prime spawning areas are often shared with other species and it all seemed very competitive this year. Just my penny. Time will tell.
