I’ve used both the 15 and 20 models. The 20’s are bigger than the 15’s. Both have served me well. Keep them cleaned, greased and they will bring in anything you hook.
I am thinking about getting some line counters for my rods that I pull crankbaits with. I was looking at the Okuma magda pro ma 15dx online but they look kinda big. Are any of you guys using this real or anything different? If so could you post some pictures so I can get an idea of what I may want. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

Does the 15 feel Awkward on a 12 ft rod?

Not to me. I have them on 8,10 12, and 14 foot rods. Used them on 16 foot rods in past. Unless reeling in a fish they are sitting in rod holders. Shakespeare line counter reel are similar to the 15;s but might be a tad smaller. Not enough to matter. They are a good reel too.
I use both, they are fairly equal. I do prefer the Shakespeare, but both are somewhat large.

I us that 15dx Okuma to pull cranks works great not to big I have 2 on 7ft rods in my spread
Which lakes are you guys pulling cranks on? Are you catching black crappie or mainly whites? I've bought some bandits and plan to try my luck on lake tillery. Hoping I haven't wasted my money on a bunch of cranks. But seems to me trolling cranks will be a little cooler this time of year.
I fish tillery and high rock. I did catch a 1.75lb crappie Monday at tillery. I use arkie 350. They are the same as bandits but a dollar cheaper per bait.

I'm liking tillery more and more. It's the closest lake of any size near me and there's plenty of big crappie there. But I've only caught a few white crappie there and I'm reading that whites are the primary target for cranks. We'll see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Surely I'll get a few reactionary bites from the specks too. If not oh well, I'll drive another 45 minutes give our take and learn how to fish high rock. Seems there are more white crappie there.
