Default High Rock 4-6 and 4-7

Finally found what has been trimming down the crappie population.

4-6 was very slow to say the least. Crappie didnt cooperate but fun was had regardless!.

4-7 fished with my best friend and his son. Finally found the big one ive been hunting for quite some time! And the crappie finally started coming on!
Have this last final weekend available. Crappie fishing should be hottt on the banks.

Just got to be there at the right time.... 4-6 had to have been the worst day for fishing I can remember.

Congrats on the fish! Definitely HR trophies!

    My penny.

Flatheads like white perch better and a white perch last forever on a hook. There are some big blues in HR. I caught a 30lber a few years ago on a mini U-rig trolling for stripers.... but there are a TON of large flatheads in HR. Much more so than blues. Blues love white perch as well.

In general a catfish will eat just about anything. Flathead prefer live bait. Blues don't care but sometimes prefer live bait.

I don't believe stripers actively look for Crappie or most any other "game fish" you'll find in HR. Too many fins to content with. Which is why trout are sometimes used to fish for stripers. I've caught a trout here and there in HR that was used to fish for stripers.

There are plenty of threadfin and gizzard shad in HR for stripers to eat. I've caught 13 inch gizzard shad in HR before.

I believe Pete was just joking around with the fact the crappie fishing has been off recently.

Sundance basically said it pretty good.

I would think that large mouth would be a bigger predator than stripers but i do know that a striper will not hesitate and eat a 8inch crappie. the lake is slam loaded with gizzard shad and they dont have to look very hard for food. unfortunately this makes it even more so difficult for us striper fisherman!!
