Awesome fish!
I was thinking earlier that I want to try Ttown this weekend. I have never fished for crappie on Ttown.... any general ideas of where to start?
Lower lake / upper lake?
Creeks or main lake?
I’ll be single pole with jigs or minnows should they be near the bank yet?
Not looking for a trophy like this guys or personal spots but hoping for a couple keepers To bring home to the wife.
Any advice would help I’m real new to targeting crappie.
Thanks!
Sorry I didn’t catch the fish and have not been on the lake in a while so I’m no help. Some of the others on here may can help. This time of the year one would think shallow but this year has been different with rain and muddy water. All females I have caught lately appear to be ready to lay. The fish in the picture sure has a bloody tail.
Very nice slab right there for sure.

Anywhere east of the mountains in NC, right now go to the backs of the coves in 5’ of water or less. Be sure to drag a minnow or jig past every stump, piling, or piece of brush you see. Tomorrow should be excellent with the warm rain.

Thanks guys. I agree, that tail looks like she’s been busy.
I’ll see how I do starting real shallow, hope to go at some point this weekend maybe the rain hasn’t messed it up any.
If you see a blue bay boat out there stop and say hello.
Ok so I was able to be in the water from 7-11 this morning.
Main lake is reasonably clean for Ttown and 55-57 deg. Creeks are milky brown but 58-60 deg.
I fished all the way back in creeks, out to more river line structure, from 1 ft to 10ft. Even a short creek on main channel from back out to mouth.
Minnows on a jig head under a cork, jig only, roadrunner, beetlespin, tried to be extra slow, and tried a variety of colors.
The bottom line: I zeroed...
This was my third time out looking mainly for crappies (1st on Ttown) but they win again.
Maybe the temp info will help others. I thought I was gonna be all set with 58-60 deg water.
