Cat fish in North West river?

Is the cat fishing in NWR good doing winter months? I will be down that way soon and want to try it this year. I will be down by Moyock NC. When do the perch start biting in that area? Any input about fishing that area would be great, Thanks.

I know the perch start biting Good around the first of the year. I can't wait to make a trip myself!

What part of NY are you from? I grew up in Oswego.

I used to fish in the Oswego harbor, and up a little farther in the Little Salmon River. Wow, small world.

I live about 100 miles north of there, I have been down there fishing a few times for lake trout and salmon.
