Got the Sea Dancer on the water this morning for the first time in a few months. I decided if I was going to fish the North State top shelf again this year I needed to get ready. I was at the point before the first wood duck whistled.
I had stopped at Cruziers to get some bait. Another first for me. I was shocked to say the least. Nice store, very clean, smelled nice and mens room was as clean as the store. I could not smell the minnows. (healthy minors don't smell). I got a good count in favor of the fisherman, but not enough to make me feel guilty. The staff was very friendly and I hope to stop there again soon.
Back to the lake, water was tea stained and 87^. I was pulling coleman rigs with bottom hook bumping bottom,I had no company so I just relaxed and let the fish talk to me, Nine crappie in the boat from 11 to 15 in, three very nice perch and 4 channel cats.Had several putbacks that were too short. I watched the Osprey catch a fish and then an Eagle caught one. I must say the eagle is much more graceful.. Both got the job done.
It was great to be there again. If anyone needs a ride sometime just let me know We can work it out and have a great day together.
fishfinder8 thanked you for this post
I'm hoping whatever comes through next week drops those water temps some. Can't wait to get back over there!
