what kinda boat did your dad get?
My Father bought a new boat a couple of months ago and I've had a chance to take him long-lining in it twice. We went this past Thursday afternoon to Harris and fished about four hours until the storms hit. It was hot, but the Bimini top made it bearable. We were each fishing four rods and had some success with perch and crappie. I was looking at the radar on my phone and knew storms were coming. We decided to go past one more point in the cove we were in and then move to another spot I wanted to try on the lake.
Fishing had been kind of slow, but things changed very quickly. Four rods were hooked up all at once. My Father grabbed one rod and a bass put on quite an acrobatic show for us. Three times it came completely out of the water. Pop was able to get it to the boat and I was able to net it. He grabbed his other rod and fought another bass while I had one on my rod as well. We netted both of them while I still had a large perch on one rod in the water. The fish measured 16.5, 16.5 and 17.0. Of course, there is a slot from 16-20 on Harris, so after a quick picture on the floor, all three went back in the water. They would have tasted very good in the frying pan, but not on this day. Three bass at one time was chaos on the boat, but something we will never forget.
This picture was from back in May just before Memorial Day weekend. Caught several crappie with these two 14" fish being the largest. It will be interesting to see what my Father catches on his next long-lining trip.

Crestliner--it's new to him, but is a used boat. It has a 6-month old Yamaha 150 fourstroke on the back and the I-Pilot Minn Kota on the front, so the power parts of the boat are nice.
