    Default Cold Rock

Holly crappie where did my crappie bite go. Total today 6 crappies, 8 bluegills and 8 catfish. Last week no crappie but 6 bluegills and 6 catfish. Areas that have been productive before. Tons of short bites wasted minnows.
On the positive 3 to 5 lb cats on my 9 ft 5 wt fly rods are fun until you have to get the snot off your rigs. Got 5 pounder on a electric chicken

There has been an outage at the HR dam. No water flowing for a few days.

If you are in clear water gonna have to find structure. Brush or docks maybe. If you go up lake say from the Shrine club north the water is typically dingy. Crappie like stained water better than brush. It will be shallower up there but they will be on the ledges and drops. Your trolling method should produce in dingy water. Caught 100 on brush last Friday in clear water down lake on 6 brush piles. Gonna hit my other 9 in the morning. Have caught some lately in little crane near Watersedge subdivision. Those fish were larger but not near as many. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
