We fished it Saturday, the lake was packed because of a Bass tournament, Swift Island was packed because of the closing of Lilly's Bridge. We caught 2 crappie, 1 10" and 1 12" caught them both on jigs, I hooked something with a wire hook and minnow that straightened out.
Can not say it was the most fun trip ever, drove 45 minutes to Blewett, ramp closed for renovations, put in the address for Lilly's Bridge, drove 40 more minutes to get there, closed as well. Got to Swift Island with nowhere to park, hour and a half after we would have been fishing at Blewett, had to park truck where we normally pull the boats to strap down.
Fishing is a science, study, experiment, fail, and succeed...then start over tomorrow. Yeah I'm a science guy.

No just the one by the dam. It is getting new bathrooms, parking lot redone, (hopefully paved), a picnic area, and some other stuff. I have never been to Grassy Island, and didn't know if my boat would fit under the bridge. I also saw the new one over by the 109? bridge, but we didn't know how the river was that far up.

never been from 109 to the dam but i bet thats a dangerous ride! i was just wondering about the ramps, they got the two facing the dam then they got the two facing uplake, without those ramps it really restricts acces to the lake, that grassy island ramp is more for small jon boats and duckhunters and those who dont worry about lower units

Talked to a buddy of mine yesterday that caught a nice mess on Tillery this past weekend. He did not say which day. Looked like he had probably 15 nice ones. Said they caught most of theirs shallow.

The entire road is blocked so you cant get down to them. I am hoping they are paving the lot. Says on the signs will reopen Spring 2018, I have a 14ft boat that I might try to take up to grassy island if there is another warm snap.

You can make it under the bridge at Grassy Island with your boat. I take my 17 foot War Eagle under it with no hesitation. Just make sure your rods are laying in the boat with you. Once you come out of the slough, if you go left just watch out for shallow water around the islands and the occasional stump. If you go right there are rocks about a mile down. it's about a 200 yard stretch of rocks that you WILL hit if water is low or your motor is down too far. I usually just get out and pull my boat across them.
