Thanks monk
Be aware that conditions on Jordan are right for another Shad Kill like the one a few years back. The combination of low water and extended cold temperatures allows the water temperature to get down to 43 degrees and kill the Threadfin Shad.
You know there has been a die off, when the Seagulls are swimming along on the surface and scooping up the dead shad.

Solar Bees to help the fish in the summer...... Solar Blankets to help in the winter?
Lets pray it doesn't happen.
Hopefully the cold snap will not be too long..
How do you think a shad kill effect crappie fishing or fishing in general?

If there are no shad, there isn't much for crappie or other fish to eat.
I flew over Jordan lake yesterday and couldnt help to notice that the back 1/4 of most of the creeks were frozen.
