if we really want to keep the big fish in our lakes and see them really grow this needs to apply to our everyday fishing for everyone, release those bigger fish and keep the small eaters, u get a crappie that goes more than a lb and a quarter and he is so thick u gotta cut the filet in half again to have it cook right with the others, keep your share of the 8-11" fish but let those big girls live and breed, to get to 3lbs she has to make it past 2lbs, there are certain times of the year to where fisherman if not self regulated can and will hurt the population, we cant leave it up to our ncwrc or someone else we all need to do our part, we are the reason that our lakes go in cycles, its not a sin to release the big crappie, its called resource management
